Abstract. In the talk I will discuss formulae for the number of cyclic subgroups and the number of all subgroups (of a given order) of the group G:=Z_n x Z_n. Also, I will give a simple representation of the subgroups of G. More generally, formulae for the number of subgroups of arbitrary finite abelian groups will be considered.
